ohmygosh. the hangzhou people came and went. time flies, really. now they are in hongkong
disneyland, while i am here, struggling with my emath weekend homework. how fair is that, you tell me. anyway, i want to blog about their stay here, it was ultra super-duper fun!
so right, they attended lessons with us and everything and fei hong came to stay at my house. on the first day when she slept over, my dad brought us for dinner and we realised that she needed to have a stroll in the park after dinner. so we brought her to tiong bahru park and to my surprise she couldnt swing on the swing, and i had to teach her therefore, as i told felicia and pearlyn, i was the swinger, and she was the swing-ee.
ah. but the fun started on friday when we went to the night safari. but it was unfair though because we thought that we would join them and explore the zoo together, but we reached at 6.45pm and they had some animal show at 7pm, so it meant that we had to finish dinner in 15 minutes but we didnt have enough time because 1) the only food they had there were $11 salads and $16 salmons. hence we decided to hop over to the singapore zoo (the day zoo) and wanted to get kfc, alas the shops were all closed. so we had nothing to eat. yinwai, waiteng and me decided to drop by ben and jerrys to get icecream, but the rest were still hungry. so all of us decided to order mcdonalds delivery to the zoo and go for the tram ride for 40 minutes, so that when mcdonalds came after 45 minutes, we could start eating immediately. thus, we had to miss the animal show with the hangzhou buddies and go onto the tram ride ourselves. but it was fun! and we took lots of pictures while queueing up, and i got the lorris ticket! i named the two lorrises on my ticket larry and lorry :D so i was sitting with spider-paranoid yinwai, who kept brushing her neck and her arms. haha, i kept asking her not to be paranoid and everything. damn funny. after that, we had to eat fast because the bus driver was angry and we went home. oh yes, and my bus partner was yinwai (who else) and then we started singing all the cantonese tvb drama songs, it was fricking hilarious.
so the next day, the hangzhou people wanted to visit NUS so we sent them to school and they took the bus and left, while pearlyn, lixin, yinwai, jingyi and i went to tanglin to have breakfast from 9am to 11am. and we shopped for souveniers for our buddies. we all went to yinwai's house because she had to take money and pearlyn and i sang barney and bob the builder and hi-5 songs along the way. i was out of breath by the time we walked to yinwai's house. after that, we went back to school and played badminton and captain's ball with the hangzhou people in the hall till school closed at 1. pearlyn and i played the piano together, fur elise and cancan and yue liang dai biao wo de xin. it was damn fun, we went from slow to fast and our fingers were so messy and we couldnt play in sync. and i learnt yue liang dai biao wo de xin from her! and she learnt the marriage d' amour piece, which i tried to learn but failed. i couldnt get past the first line please. thereafter we went to orchard with lixin, yinwai, pearlyn, shihui, joanne, edwyna and jingyi, and their buddies of course. and the only guy who came, hu tao. joanne, lixin, yinwai, shihui and i got off the wrong stop and the rest didnt get off. ohwells, so we decided to have lunch and meet the rest somewhere later.
so we went to food republic and waited a hell of a long time for a table, we had 13 people, mind you. and when we finally got a table, all the other people started leaving. DAMN UNFAIR I TELL YOU, THEY DIDNT LEAVE WHEN WE WERE STANDING THERE WAITING FOR TABLES AND WHEN WE SAT DOWN, THE WHOLE PLACE STARTED BECOMING EMPTY. whatever. anw, we started eating and decided that, since we were taking 19843823940 hours to eat, we wouldnt have enough time to meet jingyi and the rest, so we split up instead. we went to far east and we split into even smaller groups cause we figured 13 people were too much. joanne and i took hers and my buddy, xingliang's buddy and the guy. we shopped and xinliang's buddy bought everything in sight, it was damn hilarious. the bad thing was, even as a small group, the china people couldnt stick with the group and we had to stop every ten minutes to check if everyone was there. as expected, they wandered off and we once lost the guy and i had to go two rounds to search for him. it was very frustrating but ohwells, i dont want to be mean. besides, i already complained to diana and jiayi and lixin and pearlyn and shihui and everybody else. even my dad. hah. so anyway, i couldnt really shop because i was looking out for everyone. and then shihui and the others (whom we had split up with) wanted to go heeren and thus we met them and went to heeren. on the way, we had to go to lucky plaza because the guy wanted to buy A GAMEBOY. i mean the machine. ILLOGICAL I TELL YOU. it's so expensive here. so anyway, because we were bound by duty, we went with him. so he didnt buy in the end. he would have been really stupid to.
anw, we went to hmv. and this time, the china people really got lost this time.
we were halfway up the escalator when they decided to walk away and then i asked them where they were going, and lixin said they wanted to sit down. so we let them and went upstairs. in the end, pearlyn had to leave but her buddy was 'downstairs'. supposedly. but surprisesurprise, she wandered off. we combed the whole of heeren, even the small shops upstairs. we even enlisted the help of xue yuan who was shopping in heeren coincidently, pearlyn even showed her and her friends neoprints of the hangzhou people so they could help identify and find them. HOW BAD WAS THAT?!?! i tell you, i wanted to swear at them so badly, i even asked pearlyn if the hangzhou people knew what the middle finger meant if not i could point it at them. in the end, we found the guy who was together with the group that went away, and he was alone. he told us that he was searching for them too, and that was the time we started to really panic. yinwai went into hmv and pearlyn and i went to comb the rest of heeren for them. I SWEAR, I AM NEVER GOING TO BRING A GROUP OF 13 PEOPLE INTO ORCHARD EVER AGAIN. OR
ANY OTHER PLACE. HOW DO TOUR GUIDES SURVIVE?! finally, they were sitting somewhere random and we found them. after a very, very, very long time. then yinwai, lixin and i decided to bring our buddies to newton circus. shihui wanted to go, but when she heard that mdm lim and miss saifa wanted to go too, she backed out because she didnt want lin lao shi to see her polka-dotted-with-lace tube dress. we were saboh-ing her please, when she tried to hide behind pearlyn to avoid being seen.
in the end, only three of us, and our buddies, together with the teachers and the guy went to
newton. i found out that lixin was cantonese and yinwai, lixin and i started speaking cantonese all the way to newton, it was damn funny, i kept squatting down to laugh. and at the mrt station we
started to swear in all the different dialects. and mispronounced a lot of words, i was laughing
like anything. and we said lim hong geok's name in three different languages, it was so funny. and lixin and i started to discuss about the guy's armpit hair (which was staring at us right in our
faces) in cantonese, and luckily, we didnt talk bad about lim hong geok in cantonese because it
turned out that she could speak the dialect, as she told us. i was going to collapse in laughter
because lixin said it so funny i swear i would have choked to death in there. ohyes, i forgot to say
that i told my buddy to enter the mrt barrier thingy by watching what the others did, and when it was her turn, she walked straight up to the red open-close thingys and tried to PRY THEM OPEN. i was before her and i kept pointing to the place that she was supposed to tap her card and she kept tapping at the wrong place. aiyah. so we went to newton and we separated from the teachers because it was too big a group again, cause newton was goddamn crowded. and we spoke to each other in cantonese, and started to tease each other in cantonese. lixin and i called yinwai 'leng zai', which means pretty boy in cantonese, and yinwai started calling all our buddies pretty girls in cantonese, and she turned to me and started to say the same thing, and she realised what she was saying and she said 'no.. unpretty girl' in cantonese (i cant spell the pronounciation) and i was drinking sugar cane while she was saying it and i started to laugh and SNORTED SUGAR CANE OUT OF MY NOSE.i was so shocked please.
after that we went home. ha! and the next day, which is today, we sent them off to school but we
didnt go to the airport, only edwyna, yuexi and pearlyn did. all of us just went to school in shorts
and slippers and went back home to sleep after that, because we all woke up at 5am on a sunday. so here ends our twinning program in singapore, but the one where WE go over is yet to come. i'm looking forward to november!! :D
